White Sand Beach in Malapascua Island is a quiet, lesser-known gem that lives up to its name—offering pure white sand, calm waters, and a peaceful atmosphere away from the island’s bustling southern coast. Nestled on the island’s northwestern side, this stretch of beach is perfect for travelers looking to enjoy a laid-back day in the sun with minimal crowds. Unlike the popular Bounty Beach, White Sand Beach offers a more secluded experience, ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and those craving solitude by the sea.

        Location and Accessibility

White Sand Beach is located on the northwestern tip of Malapascua Island, near the traditional fishing village of Guimbitayan, in the municipality of Daanbantayan, Northern Cebu, Philippines. It lies slightly west of Langub Beach and not far from the island’s iconic lighthouse.

        How to get there:

        • From Cebu City, take a Ceres bus or private van from the North Bus Terminal to Maya Port (about 4–5 hours).
        • At Maya Port, board a public outrigger boat (bangka) to Malapascua Island (approximately 30 minutes).
        • Once on the island (arriving at Logon Beach), you’ll need to walk or hire a local guide to reach White Sand Beach—about a 30–45 minute scenic walk through trails and coconut groves.

Note: There are no direct motorized transport routes on the island to this beach, making it a bit of a hidden sanctuary for determined explorers.

        Natural Features

White Sand Beach boasts fine, powdery sand that gleams under the tropical sun, with calm, shallow waters that range in color from aquamarine to deep blue. The beach is framed by low limestone outcrops and bordered by native vegetation and coconut trees. Its gently sloping shoreline is ideal for wading and relaxing, and the lack of commercial development keeps the surroundings raw and unspoiled.

Occasionally, you’ll see local fishermen heading out to sea in traditional bangkas, adding to the serene, authentic ambiance. The area also offers views of the Visayan Sea and nearby coastal cliffs like Lapus-Lapus.

        Activities and Experiences
        • Swimming and sunbathing: Ideal for leisurely swims and lounging on the soft sand.
        • Picnicking: Bring your own food and enjoy a peaceful meal by the sea.
        • Photography: Capture the stunning landscapes, tranquil waters, and fiery sunsets.
        • Beachcombing: Discover tide pools, seashells, and enjoy meditative walks.
        • Snorkeling: Occasional coral patches and small fish can be seen near the rocks.
        Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit White Sand Beach is during the dry season from December to May, when skies are clear, waters are calm, and trails are easier to navigate. Early mornings and late afternoons offer the best light and temperature for beachgoers.

Visiting during the Amihan season (northeast monsoon) ensures cooler winds and ideal beach weather. It’s best to avoid the wet season (June to November) if you want uninterrupted sunshine and easier walking conditions.

        Facilities and Nearby Amenities

White Sand Beach is undeveloped and rustic, with no commercial infrastructure or tourist facilities. There are no restrooms, shops, or rentals, so visitors must bring everything they need—water, food, and sun protection.

For accommodations, restaurants, and stores, head back to Logon Village or Bounty Beach on the southern coast, where most tourist services are available.

        Visitor Tips and Guidelines
        • Bring essentials: Water, snacks, sunscreen, and a towel or mat.
        • Wear proper footwear for hiking the trail, especially if it’s been raining.
        • Leave no trace: Carry out your trash and keep the beach clean.
        • Visit in groups or during daylight for safety.
        • Respect local customs: Be courteous when passing through villages or private paths.

White Sand Beach is a quiet refuge for those seeking a slice of untouched paradise on Malapascua Island. Far from the busy dive spots and commercial areas, it offers a chance to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy the raw beauty of the Philippines’ island life. Whether you’re a beach lover, nature enthusiast, or traveler looking for a peaceful escape, this hidden stretch of sand is worth discovering on your Malapascua journey.

        Malapascua
        Langub Beach | VM-LAB
Langub Beach is one of Malapascua Island’s most tranquil and least disturbed beaches—a quiet treasure tucked along the northern coast of Cebu’s beloved diving destination. With its soft, white sand, clear turquoise waters, and a sense of remoteness, Langub offers a raw, back-to-nature experience that feels like your own private tropical retreat. While other parts of Malapascua draw divers and backpackers, Langub remains low-key and peaceful, making it perfect for travelers seeking quiet contemplation, romantic strolls, or undisturbed beach time.
        Malapascua
        Logon Beach | VM-LB
Logon Beach, located in the heart of Malapascua Island in Cebu, Philippines, is where everyday island life and tourism meet in a colorful, energetic setting. Often overlooked in favor of the more polished Bounty Beach, Logon Beach offers visitors a more authentic and immersive experience. With fishing boats lining the shore, local vendors selling fresh catch and tropical fruits, and children playing along the sand, this beach showcases the beating pulse of Malapascua’s local community. For travelers interested in cultural interaction as much as coastal beauty, Logon Beach is an unmissable stop.
